The Challenge
Create and submit a marketing poster to promote the 2012-2013 National Beta Club Convention using the official theme, The Heart of Beta. The poster should announce the place, date and time of the National Convention. It should entice Beta clubs and their members and sponsors to attend the convention. The contest is open to all National Beta Club members. Sponsors or other teachers/adults may not assist in the design. Only one entry per member will be accepted.
Entries may be featured in part or in whole in the Beta Club’s national promotions in addition to the awards!
Please carefully read all official rules and eligibility requirements. An entry must meet all requirements and follow all official rules.
Awards
Winners will be announced at the National Beta Club Convention in Greensboro, NC in June 2012. An award will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in both divisions.
1st Place
- Full retail version of Adobe Photoshop CS 5
- A $200 gift certificate to The National Beta Club online store
2nd Place
- Full retail version of Adobe Photoshop Elements
- A $100 gift certificate to The National Beta Club online store
3rd Place
- Full retail version of Adobe Photoshop Elements
Eligibility Requirements
- Member must be officially registered with the National Headquarters (HQ)
- Members must be part of an active charter with current membership
- Supervising faculty sponsor must be officially registered with National HQ as sponsor of member's club
Official Rules
Entering The National Beta Club’s Convention Graphics Design Contest denotes acceptance of the following rules, regulations, terms of use and privacy policies of The National Beta Club
- Poster will promote the 2012-2013 National Beta Club Convention and incorporate the theme: The Heart of Beta (One entry per member)
- Poster must include location, date and times of the National Convention:

June 15-22, 2013 - Poster must be 300dpi and either 16x20 or 18x24 or 24x36 in size.
- Entries must includes the poster in .jpg format and the native vector file format of the photo editing software used (Photoshop - .psd, GIMP - .xcf, Inkscape - .svg) and all files necessary to recreate the design. This would include all special fonts, graphics images, photos and original design file.
- Only royalty free images/photos may be used.
- Entry form must be completed and included with submission. Download Entry form.

- ALL ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY April 1, 2012.
- All contest entries become the property of The National Beta Club and may be used and distributed by The National Beta Club for, but not limited to, marketing and promotion of the organization.
Graphic Design Software
Entries must be saved in either .psd file format, .xcf (GIMP) file format or .svg (Inkscape). If you do not have access to a licensed copy of Adobe Photoshop CS, there are several free open source alternatives. The GIMP can be downloaded from www.gimp.org. Inkscape can be downloaded from www.inkscape.org
Judging
All entries will be judged by a panel of professional designers and/or design educators. If the design entries do not meet the requirements, the panel reserves the right not to award a winner for that category. All decisions made by the panel are final.
